ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell University’s Office of Community Relations is hosting a town-gown conference on Friday, April 7, at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Higher education and municipal officials will discuss shared interests and opportunities related to housing and town-gown relations, as well as how colleges and universities support economic growth in their communities.
A housing discussion on partnerships designed to develop and promote affordable housing as well as housing challenges and opportunities will take place at 11:25 a.m.

Mary Beth Labate, president of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu), will offer additional remarks on town-gown relationships at 10:50 a.m. cIcu is an Albany based not-for-profit organization that represents the chief executives of New York’s 100+ independent (private, not-for-profit) colleges and universities on issues of public policy.
